speakers

Today I purchased the Polk db570 speakers for front and rear. Right now they are $99 a pair and the 2nd pair is half off. I also got the Pioneer DEH-P4800MP head unit. Plus they have free shipping. I sure hope this sounds better than the crappy stock system!

upgraded stock system..

in my 05 s-crew, i slapped in some new pioneer 6x8"s front and rear, and got a custom box for two kicker 10"s under the rear seat.. powered by 2 alpine amplifiers (one for the door speakers, other for the subs) and controlled by an alpine head unit.. sounds way better than i expected.. best of all, no rattle.. oem crap sucks...

Yea the oem's can't take much bass before they clip. I had a problem with aftermarket speakers and the factory hu in another vehicle, the bass was gone after I installed the new speakers. Will the Infinity kappa's still sound as good and have at least as much bass?

The Kappas and the JL audios both sound better than the stock speakers. I am still running them with just the HU and no amp. I still have good bass with them but it is nothing compared to when I kick on the Bazooka tube.

I have the Infinity Kappa's up front as well with the built in tweeter and external crossover. That's a great speaker for the $$. I looked at component sets but I didn't want to mess with the mounting, being that I don't have the audiophile system. They sound sweet nonetheless. I put Polks in the rear, don't like them as much and had to modify the mounting holes a bit. Put that with an Alpine deck and XM hardwired to the deck, good to go. MUCH better than stock.
