'49 wiring

I have a 1949 F1 with flat 6. It has been converted to 12 volt and alternator.
Now I need to wire all the lights, gauges, etc. Not sure how or where to start.
Is there a book , wiring for dummies? I see wiring available for the original 6 volt but .... any suggestions?
Thanks

Pickup a copy of the 49-51 shop manual that's everywhere these days. Check the store area on this site. It has the wiring diaghram in the back. If the wiring harnesses that are out there is a good quality, it will handle 12V because 6V wiring is heavier. 6V has 1/2 the voltage but more ampherage. 12 V is just the opposite.
