changing gauges to 12 volt
Does anyone have a simple diagrame for converting gauges on 49 f1 to 12 volt.powertrain is all 78 f150. I bought 1.5 amp reduser for 6 to 12 volt but don,t know were to instal it in the wiring.I will run my signal lights on new fuse pannel and have changed all bulbs in dash to 12 volts.Thanks for any help. Pete.

What I used is called an Instrument cluster regulator. Its a Ford part #B9MZ-10804-C The Ford dealer had to order it for me. It was used on 57 to 64 Ford pickups to reduce the voltage to the gauges. It was about $30, but it works real well.
There is a line that runs from the ignition switch to the instrument cluster that applies power when the switch is turned on. That's the line you need to install the reducer into. Steve
