Hello all. I have a 1993 E150. The console on my engine cover is (and has been for some time) broken and I'd like to replace it. I have a couple of questions. First, anyone have any idea where to find the console that was used on the '92-'96 models? Secondly, I've seen plenty of '97s out there, but as you all know there were some changes starting in '97. What I'd like to know is although the console for the '97 won't just snap into place in a '93 can it be mounted (via screws or something like that) to the engine cover in a '93? I'm not sure how much the design of the engine cover itself may have changed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

That wouldn't work well.Unless the engine cover fits like a glove, the engine noise and smell in the cab will be terrible. If Ford still had one I'm sure it would be very expensive so the Junk Yard is a possibility.
Have searched high and dry for my 93 conversion van. Think you gotta just hit the junkyards. They don't even list that part online. One site had them online but discontinued...
I figured I might have to just hit the junk yards. The good news is that out here in Albuquerque there are plenty of them.. the bad news is that I've been to quite a few looking for other parts... and I just don't run across too many E150's that are '92 or newer.

I think perhaps I wasn't clear on what I want to do. I don't want to exchange the engine cover itself, I just want to know if I can use a console that's not from the '92-'96 timeframe.
On My 92 van the $135.00 console broke off in less than 12 months. Just took the aftermarket wooden one off my 88 e-350, edge-glued some pine shelving, put the 92 console upside down on the pine and traced the basic outline, used the general shape of the 88 side braces for a referece, cut out the pockets for ashtray and miss parts, brushed with waterbased urethane, glued and screwed. Today, 300,054 miles later it will still hold up a 6 year old and still looks better than the crapy stock one.
