Hello all. I'm new to this site. I just stumbled upon it after a search on Google. Hopefully, someone can help me.
First of all, I have a '99 Expedition EB with about 135,000 (hwy) miles. My wife and I just returned last night from a trip to New Orleans. The truck ran fine on the whole trip, but this morning, we took a short run to Mickey D's and its hesitating and the motor is vibrating bad between 45 and 55 mph. My wife seems to think its a coil pack going bad. Oh, and the "Service Engine" light came on later on this morning too.
Welcome Cheez22! How about you take your Expy down to the local Autozone and get them codes read (that's one of the things that causes the 'Service Engine' light to come on). Then come on back and report it/them to us, we should be able to provide more useful information after getting those codes.
If the motot is stumbling under load it could be a plugged fuel filter or dying fuel pump. But again, get us them codes; your wife may be right.
Might be time to get a power flush of the fuel injectors too....my beast ran a lot better afterwards and it fixed the hesitation problem I had been having.
