While getting a new tire put on a rim at a local auto shop they said that i needed a new coil, so he then suggested that i put an electronic one in... Now i considered doing this a lot before but i decided i wasnt gunna put any more money in it untill i get my new engine.... but it looks like im gunna have to wait a while for that. Anyway he quoted a price of about 350$ for a new electric distributor and all the stuff needed. I am definetly not going to get it done there... this is work that i can do. but i was wondering what u all think of that price. seems pretty high. Well since he said he couldnt get it started cus of the coil... he had to put a ford coil in there. he said he just had it layin around and he'll only charge me 10 for it but then he charged me 60$ for putting new points in and doing all the wiring for the coil...Just thought i would share this with u all

I've ordered the Pertronix Ignitor conversion kit and will be swapping the points and condenser for the electronic set. The whole set-up with shipping cost about $75 and I'll never need to change points again, I've already got the flame thrower coil, so there should be a good increase in performance.
