My 94 was an OBD1 I don't think they were OBDII until 96 except maybe on CA trucks but I may be wrong. I will try giving them 93 info. The 94 has a different firing order due to the cam, but that should not matter with the bank firing of my 91 system
That's odd...I was able to tune my 94/351 when it was speed density. I am also able to use an AKC0 database on a 94 f-150 with an HOG0 PCM and it responded well to tuning changes. With that said, I would tend to think that tuning with a GEN 1 Lightning strategy would be the same as a standard (speed density) F-150.
I have been told the lightning EEC is a little more tunable than a non lightning speed density computer. but i'm finding out that there is alot of misinformation out there. Id like to try tuning mine but you lost me with the AKCO database. EEC tuning is brand new to me and I don't know what an AKCO database is.
I haven't worked with a stock speed density F-150, so I can't compare it to a Lightning. However, I have compared both mass air systems (standard F-150 w/ mass air vs. GEN 1 Lightning w/ mass air conversion) and the Lightning file/database has more to work with. So much more in fact that I now use the GEN 1 Lightning mass air database to tune on it instead because there is more to work with.
AKC0 is the calibration code that is used to identify a program within the truck's computer.
If you plan to get a Tweecer and do your own tuning, be patient and ask questions.
Wow ,Blurry 94, you really seem to know your tuning data very well, looking at your engine pic I can see why. I hope to someday have mine looking (and producing) that good. I think I should start with the mass air conversion and get my biggest expense (for now) out of the way before my emissions test is due. I dont think it will pass as is. Then I can fine tune when time is not so critical. emissions test in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area is a real pain. we now have to put all cars and trucks older than 1996 but less than 25 years on a dyno and test them against a load at low and high speeds. A day most of us really dread, so I want to get it behind me before I start tuning too much.
