How do you get the **** off? I just bought a piston shift **** and I was wondering how you get the old one off. My stock **** is not pretty so I'm not too concerned with preserving it. Is it threaded? Should I take the pliers to it?
Beat it off, The ****! I am not sure if it is threaded or not, mine was stuck to, so I just painted it and now it is pretty again. You might try soaking it in a little WD-40 or similar product and give it a good yank if you are not woried about preserving it. I dont know, but let me know how it turns out.
Yeah it is threaded. You might try backing off the nut that is against the ****. Then take some wide channel lock pliers and put a thick shop rag in between the **** and the pliers and twist the **** off. They have about an inch worth of threads in the **** so it may take some twisting but they do come off. Good luck
The original **** actually wasn't threaded, it was a press-on. When I finally got it to rotate, it didn't go anywhere, so I worked it back and forth until it slid off.
