how do you get the manual shift **** off a 5 speed trans in a ,i think, 95-96 ranger?

its a splined shifter and its glued on it, to get the one off my 4 speed i cut it with the sawzall on the top and then took a chisel to it, mine was already off my ranger when i got it i would imagine vice grips might break it loose just put another pair on the lever with a rag so you dont tear it out of your tranny

Grab hold of it and try to spin it to loosen the glue holding it on. Then work it upwards while twisting it back and forth.

Some WD-40 will take care of any leftover glue on the shifter.
