Code 32

I'm getting a trouble code 32 during the KOER test on my 87 Ranger 2.3. According to my book the 32 means that the system cannot open the EGR valve. Of the possible causes listed for this I know it is not the EGR valve or a vacuum leak, as I've tested for both. So I'm down to the EVP sensor/EGR solenoid as the potential problem, right? On my truck these two items are together in one piece. Is there any way to test these to ensure that they are bad?

Find the article that relates to your type of system and it'll probably provide some means of testing the components.

I found a good description of the system, but no testing info. Great site though, thanks for pointing it out.
