I don't mind if there is a reason for the GM part but a whole GM engine in a Ford just ain't right.
GM and Mopar make a good replacement airbox to prevent carb icing and let a Ford breathe. Ford always strangles and constipates their engines as part of a cheap rev control method.

I had a 300 I-6 in my 79 a few years ago that I had a problem with the carb icing up. Hooked up the heat stove and put a new vacuum door closer on the air cleaner snorkel, and it worked great after that.
The Chevy in a Ford thing..... Grrrrrrrr..... If they aren't smart enough to build a Ford engine then don't even do it. People should just keep the right in the right make vehicle. I know Chevies are cheaper to build most of the time, but you get what you pay for.
