just got home from a huge mud bog. it was more like a tank trap. 2ft deep thick gumbo crap. i got about 15 ft in it and couldent go any farther, i did about 4 or 5 5grand neutral drops to reverse and drive and then the tractor showed up to pull me out. there was also some pulling. i was trying to get a friend to pull his 74 chevy agasint my truck and he couldent find who ever had the keys then and then another friend said hell pull my truck. he wouldent tell me what he had in it, i had heard he had a 305 in it but i wasn WRONG. http://www.supermotors.org/vehicles/...5905&objtype=2 that is me getting my *** handed to me. we were the first 2 to pull then after that all these people started pulling and the 1st friend finally showed up. it was a black 74 short bed chebby with a 350. i drug that truck clear across the field, the people were telling me to stop but i just kept putting it to shame. i ran out of memory on the camera for that one unfortunately but i have pictures that need to be devolped. then i hit the mud and just bogged out. my tranny didnt like the 5grand neutral drops between drive and reverse, it was slippin for a good bit when i first started to leave the pit and then something locked up and it was fine. i also managed to blow out the doughnut gasket on the exhaust which made for a fun ride home avoiding the cops. it was a good day and im still coverd in mud in smell like exhaust. http://www.supermotors.org/vehicles/....php?id=325909 that is the mud i was up against.
Yea your right. Tranny's generally don't like 4 to 5 grand neutral drops. On another note I wish we had mud bogs like that in Jersey. They keep building houses on all the good mud pits.
In the first vid did you have at's on it? it looked like you did i think about a month and half ago there was a thread about pulling like that and the thing was everyone agreed the first guy to start spinning lost. something you might remember next but anyway nice vids.
we both had BFG at's accept he had electric lockers front and rear and a built 400. he held his brakes at the beginning and reved it and then dropped the brakes and just drug me like i wasnt there.
the truck is fine. i blew out the doughnut gasket so i have to replace that, and on the way home coming up my mountain when ever i would make a left turn and hit a bump it sounded like metal hitting pavement so i got out and looked and there was nothing hangin so i got to figure out what that is. i also got it a little hot sitting there idlein waiting to get in the pit and when i got pulled out of the pit i was pissing coolant out of the over flow hose and i twisted a belt. so i let her cool down then fixed the belt and went to a friends house near by and sprayed out all the mud in the radiator fins and filled it back up.
Man that looks like a blast. That is really some mud there. I noticed another older Ford there as well an orange or red similar to your truck. A Superduty there as well. A mid 90s Ford pickup. Man I wish I could have been there. BTW nice lookin truck you got. I just dont know if I could put my truck through the mud like you do. I was thinkin about all the cleaning up afterwards.
there were ALOT of old fords there. thanks, the pictures make my truck look alot nicer than it actually is, the paint aint all that nice on it and there are some rust spots. im not looking forward to the clean up but it sure as hell was fun. the picture right next to me hooking up to that chevy is the one i got the video of. i think i actually made it a little farther then he did.
eventually, someone had to winch themselves through to get rid of the mud wall that had built up from people not making it. by the end of the day the mud was only a foot deep.
