speedo set up help
Well it is time to make the speedo work in my offroad rig again and I am kind of starting from scratch.
Background info: 78 f250 reg cab 400/np435/203/205 5.13 gears 42" tires
First of all what is the application for which the longest cable is made? With the doubler I need a longer speedo cable. plus the stock one is TOAST.
How do i figure out the gear I need to be close to accurate. i am not sure what the original speedo gear was.
how many revolutions per mile do these speedos make?

Dennis the calculator you posted is perfect. All the others I have found involved the tooth count on the original gear and i suspect it has been changed by a previous owner.
Any suggestions on the cable issue? Is a drive tain with a c-6 longer than a 435? I think i need a little longer cable to make up for the doubler. The stock cable had been rubbing on the exhaust and is not use for measuring at all. The longest I have found is 95" but I don;t know how long the original was.
