Pardon my ignorance but what are COP'S and IAC's? My V10 is somewhat of a dog and I need to know what these are since everyone talks about them all the time.
COP = Coil-on-plug - each spark plug has it's own coil, sitting right on top of it.
IAC = Idle Air Control - it's a servo that the computer spins one way or the other to increase or decrease air getting past the throttle body. This controls the idle. It does the same thing as the idle speed screw on carburators.
Naw, I used the hose to blow the air way in the holes and get all the sand out. That stinkin sand makes its way into everything. Thats probably why my front bearings sound like a pocket full of marbles driving down the road.
Just the extension and socket minus the wrench worked good for me. It was pretty easy to tell if it was threading right. After a few stripped vital parts you learn a feel for this pretty fast, or you never pick up a wrench again. Actually, I do know a few guys that still cross thread 50% of everything they put together. Ill never buy anything used from them!
Honestly, this site probably saved me at least a weeks time or a bunch of money because of the help. Thanks a bunch.

Okay, when people talk about checking these items, what am I checking for, and what is the correct procedure for checking them?
Maybe I am just expecting to much out of this truck, the combined weight of my truck and trailer is right at 18,650 lbs and I can't maintain 55 up hills. All you guys talk about these trucks like they will pull anything how ever fast you want to go just step down on the throttle. I don't have any problem with mashing my foot to the floor and letting her wind up but on a good grade, she won't wind. Any thoughts? I have changed the air and fuel filters and that made no difference. The engine purrs like a kitten and never skips a beat so I am at a loss to understand what is up.
