My 2003 E-350 V-10 has 17,000 miles on it. I change the oil and filter and lube the front end every 3,000 miles. The dealer already replaced the Air filter due to factory recall. Is there anything else I should be concerned about maintenance wise other than the standard stuff like brakes and rotating the tires.I was thinking about the fuel filter and I'll probably change that soon due to age despite the trucks low milage.Do you have to do anything special to relieve the pressure in the gas line or do you just catch any gas that spills while replacing the filter.Thanks.
Just to follow up on my own question. I'm attempting to replace the fuel filter and there is an internal lock on the fuel lines to hold the filter.Does anyone know if they can be released without buying the special tool for this.If there's no trick for it I'm back to Pep Boys to see if they sell the tool that releases the filter
look at the filter end connectors if you see a blue tab just take somthing flat and pusg down on the blue spot and push the filter to the rear remove the front hose do the same for the rear just [ushing the filter foward at the same time, take a look in my gallery i have photos of the blue one
no blue you need the tool it cheap man the full 5/16 hose one works the best and if a little playing the x one does also.

Thanks. I don't have that tab as I believe thats the newer design.I'm going to buy the tool today. My fuel filter is original and while the truck only has 17,000 miles on it I'm sure this is a good idea.
Spent the $8 and bought the tool at Pep Boys.It did the job and it's something I'll obviously use next time.I didn't notice a lot of dirt when I removed the filter but it certainly can't hurt as the purolater filter ran me$10
