So, my buddy got a new GTI...
And I have yet to put the ex to the test since I put the DP chip in and I figure, why not? Only got one good pull *on a closed course of course!* from a 5mph roll. He had a manual and a much lighter car (duh) so he got me off the start (I rolled onto the throttle). Once the turbo was spooled I didn't loose an inch and slowly but surly reeled him in. On the 2-3 shift it was over and I started to leave him but we had to shut down. I made a short vid of the black smoke rolllllin so I figured you guys would appreciate this. Its compressed pretty small and the sound quality isn't great but it gets the point accross. I will re-upload it if people want to hear/see the MBRP 4" turbo back with the muffler flipped to the LOUD setting. I'll get a better recording with my vx-2100 another day when we go to the track.

I'll bet your buddy will think twice about racing you again. I've got a buddy with an 03 Hemi Ram that wants a piece. Once I get my truck back up and running, I'll post some pics and the video.

I have another buddy with a 05 Sierra that raced me before the chip and won. I made the mistake of sending him the video, I should have raced him again in the stock setting then flipped it to the race setting the second pass. I can see the look on his face now...
It's suppose to be nice all weekend so I'm sure we will have a carwash/drive day and head out to the abandoned race track over the Savannah Bridge. I'll be sure to bring all my cameras so I can get it from all angles. Stay tuned!

i wish him luck with the vw but after working on them for 42 years and working on that new motor before i retired no way would i buy one . not till that gas direct injection gets fully perfected

Are they having problems? Apr which is known for having un-agressive tunes is getting over 300lb ft out of the motor with nothing but a chip. An exhaust is obviously suggested, but not required. Thats pretty darn impressive coming from a 4-banger...
We went back out today and got some more video. This time from a stop and from multiple angles...

Awesome video! You've got some editing skills... and the cameraman did a fine job, too.
Only thing is the link is messed up... when you post a link the FTE software does something to get it to go to the link but with an ads banner on it... so right-clicking and save as on that link won't do it. Folks will either have to click it to stream, or go to the link properties, copy the link, remove the 2%F and replace with a /, and then paste it into google, and then right click/save as the link that comes up. Whew!!! I did it the second way because I wanted to save the vid.
