I have a 2001 F250 XLT that I bought used. I had the dealer add a keyless entry system since he told me it didn't come with one from the factory. I don't have the window sticker, but based on everything I can find, the XLT came standard with keyless entry. Any way to confirm this and if so, how could I get replacement fobs that would work with my truck?
My 2001 F250 XLT crew did not come with keyless entry. I looked into adding it and it is about $149 for the factory box. You can get a cheap bulldog brand setup for $75 from wal-mart though. I ran one of those on a 1996 K1500 and it worked great, I think you could even make it flash the lights. If I do go with one it will probably be aftermarket and have a remote starter as well.
Let me know what you find out, maybe it can be done cheaper on the XLT's if the main RF box is already there?

I hear ya Rocket Man, kind of surprised me when I called the original owner back up and told him he forget to give me the key fob and he said there wasn't one?? I have the original window sticker from the truck, $34K, and no keyless entry. That's just something that Chevy seems to always have on their trucks.
Not a big deal, but it is nice to have,

i'm confused,(easily done)you had the dealer install one? --if not,you should be able to get the dealers parts dept. to lend ya a fob,(don't open it) and try to program it,if it cycles the locks, buy it!
