Christmas used to be a happy time, now i need a van to carry the gifts. I was on a job site last week,(not mine, a buddys) first time i've climbed in six years, it felt good but I couldn't do it regularly.

Yeah that is where I am at too. I have a lot going on at work and home right now. Just spent the whole day looking at vehicles for my son to replace his near dead 1989 Honda Accord. Found a nice Ford Escape for him. My wife likes it so much she wants me to get rid of the Range Rover for one. Oh boy here we go. At least I would then spend "all" my time on FTE!!!
Won't be able to make your G2G. I am suppose to be at Watkins Glen that whole weekend for the Vintage Races, but family stuff might keep me away from that too. I guess time will tell. Have a great time and good luck with all the grand kids!!!
darren, staying local. just need a house with more storage space and off a main road. also need to get away from one of my neighbors. he's a real PITA!
Beem working a lot of ot here...plus my daughter and grand daughter moved back in last week, and am working a lot of ot, and Im redoing my downstairs bath and moving my washer and dryer from my basement to my first floor pantry, and am working a lot of ot, and am looking for a bus to convert into a motorhome, and am working a lot of ot,...did I mention Im working a lot of ot,
Working on #2 son's 66 getting it road-ready. Doing the vent window weather/st is a pain and more so are the V/W pivots (Macs has them). Trying to find a house for #1 son and family that way I can get them out of mine..... and if it ever gets so we have a few days of no rain it will be a roof job on the house.
I been real busy with trying to finish up some staining work on my house and mowing the lawn at my place and my parents in between the raindrops. Ended up spending this weekend doing some landscaping work around my place. I got a 'free' load of mulch from one of my neighbors (he bought waaaaay too much ) so with the help of my wife, we removed the sod mulched around some trees that we planted a few years ago along with a 4' x30' bed along one side of the house. After all of this.... I still have mulch coming out of my ears !! It looks like later this fall we may be planting bushes and such.
Sorry gang. I have been lurking but not posting much. Things are still nuts at work and home. After getting my son settled with his new to him Escape I bit the bullet and got the wife a 2007 Mariner so my Range Rover has gone bye, bye. So that means until I can afford a new wheeling vehicle I won't be doing any wheeling trips unless someone wants me to ride shotgun with them.
I take it from the posts that John Pen has been working a lot of OT , GLR is working on his fleet of vehicles, and tiny1 is doing the usual house work that never goes away. JD how is it coming with the house sale?
I think it is a tough time for everyone! The last hurrah before summer ends get as much done as you can kind of stuff.
I am trying to make seat covers to match my interior that I painted because I cannot find any that will match. Lots of black and blue but no grey and blue so we'll see. So far evryone I show says they are coming out good just taking forever.
The 66 is on the road and inspected. Just doing some fine tuning like correct speedometer gear, windshield washer and overflow tank. Nothing major, this way the son can drive it before the snow hits. Still working on house deal for #1 son (who happened to hit a dear last night with # 2's Grand Marquis) This is his 4th deer with a vehicle 1 with a gun.
Now that is classic!!! I don't hunt, but have gotten 3 deers all with vehicles. One with my old F-150 and two with my now gone Range Rover. No damage to either vehicle. The plow frame saved the F-150 and the grill guard on the Rover. Speaking about grill guards I will have to update the thread on the proposed bill on banning grill guards with the information that I got from SEMA.
Getting ready to drive up to Shanksville for the Flight 93 Memorial GTG tommorrow. It's about a four or five hour drive from my place, hoping some people actually show up. My number three daughter just called and said she wanted to go with me and bring along all four kids and her husband. She wants to use her old chevy van that her old man just repaired. New fuel pump, front wheel bearings and some other things. I don't think he's much of a mechanic. Also wants me to cover all of the freight, will I do it?, love the kids but that's a long tow home. Ah! The things we'll do for love.
