NEW MPG thread

Like so many before me, I am looking for numbers. I have a 5.4 CC SB F250 with 4" lift, 315's and 3.73 gears. I want to compare apples to apples. I am not as concerned with wheelbase, but I am looking to find an average for 5.4 SD with 315's or 35" tall tires. The veriable I am considering is gear ratio 3.73 vs 4.10 vs any other ratio. Please chime in with:

Cab style: (regular, Extended, or Crew)
Bed lenght: (Short 6.5' or Long 8.5')
Gear Ratio: (3.73, 4.10, 4.33, ect.)
Motor Size: (5.4, 6.0, 6.8, 7.3)
Tire Size: ( inches please)
Mileage:
Other modifications:

Thanks for participating.

I think I can hear crickets.

The result of this Poll will hopefull be a nice database that can correlate mods, tire sizes, and mileage. I need your help to gather this information, the more accurate information I get the more accurate the quiries will be. I will be sharing the DB once it is complete and as I enter data.

It very well could be that this subject scares everyone - I know when I first saw it, I thought "uh, oh, here we go again"...

If you use the search function, you will probably come up with a lot of previous info that already exists for this exact question.

Here's one that actually has a lot of information in it.

I have tried the search function, but alot of the information I am trying to work with is not in the post. Some will include tire height and mpg, but leave out gear ratio and mods. I really would like to have all of the information in one place, easly accessable with all of the values to make it worth while.

I do realize it seems like I am beating a dead horse with a dead horse, that was killed by a dead horse. This just seems the best way to get a base line, an average with x size tire, y size tire, gear ratio a, gear ratio b, displacement z, displacement v, CAI, Exhaust, MAF, injectors, torque converters, ect. I hope this clarifes my intent and purpose.

Might not help but here is a spreadsheet of my mileage of my 2005 SD 4x4 5.4L crewcab. It is running factory 245R 17's and has a 3.73 ratio axel. Best was 15mpg and worse was 10mpg.

what is the final gear ratio of the 5 speed? on an auto o/d .72

so 70mph with 3.73's is 1900 rpms with 33.4" tires

check out this link to an rpm calculator w<!-- -->ww.classic<!-- -->truckshop.com/garage/shopmathrpm1.asp
