Het all thanks in advance for the help...
Story... i have a 2006 f350 6.8.
I had a shop install custom duals cat back no mufflers 2.5 in pipe ...and it sounds like crap...not the job they did,, but the exhaust is actually pretty quiet...I want louder ...not so much more crack or snap but a deeper tone ...I dont know what to do ...gimme some pointers please .
Oh yeah i also have a 2003 v10 w/ the same engine and config...and it sounds awesome,,,obviously there is a diff in computer programming or somthin ...any help would be great
thanks
I certainly hope they mated the true dual 2.5" pipes after the two cats.
I think you will be power ahead if you have an "X" welded in no more then 36 inches back from the exhaust flanges from the cast headers. Don't go with an "H" cross over. Find a "X" at Summit or similar (google). For slightly louder deeper tone have the 2.5 inch transition to 3 inch about a foot behind the "X" pipe for a few feet, and then transition the 3 inch to 3.5 inch with tip outs right in front of each rear tire... the balance tube ("X") will get the pulses back equalized right and left. And the step up in sizes will mellow the tone to a lower frequency (deeper)
