they really suck in the snow.the limp wristed limited slip doesn't help, either.seem to work all right towing.kinda noisy considering the closed tread design.let the back ones down to 35-40 lbs and they don't ride too bad(f350).just pump them back up to tow.
Mine are almost shot with only 15,500 miles. Seems as though gravel roads really eat them up. As far as traction, they are fine on hard surfaces such as pavement, but will spin out on wet grass. A very pleasantly quiet road tire, but a short life and disapointment off the hard surfaced road.
My experience is the same... I would almost rate them as a very good highway tire if they did not suck so bad on gravel or open fields..... I miss my SteelTek ATs... they were marginal to OK on highway but excellent tire on Texas "colichi" gravel roads.
Much of Texas used to be a sea bed and the lop layers on rock/soil is called colichi a soft limestone (or other sedimentary rock) and sea shell mixture that acts way differently then crushed granite or other hard rock gravels
I just took a look at my 2007 F250 sitting at the lot.I can't pick it up till late monday night, but just wanted to dream a little. But mine has the 18" continental m/s tire.I hope it holds up for some time. It's not a bad looking tire though.
they'll last a long time, until you get sick of putting the truck in four wheel because you got an inch of snow.like everybody said, they're a good road, make that ,a good paved road tire.they just load up instantly with snow.they also do a good job at holding small rocks until abou 60,then TWANG,rock goes off the side of the truck.
i've had to deal with them since the 60's .they have always been a piece if garbage, cheap garbage. they last at the best 20k if your luckie . with vw they had to replace them under the wear and tear warrenty as they were shot by 12 k on the toureg suv on all 4 wheels .perelli is not much better.
with tire ford is just cutting the pennys the wrong way imm.
