The yellow engine symbol on the dash went on at 5500 mi. Half a tank in it, always fill it at a quarter. Otherwise its running fine. fuel cap is secure. Its an 8 mo. old 06 f353 6.0 PSD
Mine comes on every month or so. I have a code reader and it is always the fuel level sensor or something like that. I tend to fill up to the neck and the level sensors go haywire once in a while. Go to Autozone and they will read it for you.
Mine just came on too at 9200 miles. Manual says it is the service engine light but that it is not an emergency unless blinking. Truck is running fine so I am waiting till I get to 10,000 miles and take it in for normal oil change to reset it.
Light can be reset(cleared) by disconnecting both battery positive terminals for at least 5 minutes. When you turn on the key all gauges max out then reset to zero. You have to reset radio, clock & auto climate controls. At 5500 miles, your still under warranty, take it in let ford read it, fix it & clear it for you. Michael
No disrespect but I'd either disconnect the batteries or swing by Autozone for a free read and reset. Either way it's a quick fix compared to going to the dealer. If it's something significant i.e. serious code I'd then go by the dealer. Otherwise you could waste a lot of time and potentially end up getting more done than you may want i.e. get a "customer satisfaction" flash or something.
