Hey Gang, I have been reading a lot on fuel pumps and fuel mileage on this forum, i called my local Auto Zone on pricing one. they told me i have one in the tank for $766.00 and a inline fuel pump for about $175.00. i am guessing it is the latter....i am no gear head.... how hard is it to install? . thanks, Ed
sorry, but i have to say that they are complete idiots . there is NO pump in the tank at all! there is only the one on the frame rail, under your seat.

I'll sell you my in-tank one for $400.
They are on crack so you are either feeding their drug habit or the price includes some Coke. You see a pump here?
If you do the Hutch mod you will definitely see there is no fuel pump INSIDE the gas tank and the only one is mounted on the frame rail under the drivers' side as others have said! That is why many of the vendors sell the aftermarket kits for a lot of $$$$ to put the fuel pump in the tank.
Don't take it the wrong way. You are exactly in the right place to find these things out and potentially save big $$$$.
I don't even ask parts folks what they think. I simply tell them what I want, or at some stores that know me, just go get it behind the counter.
On edit: it might be amusing to go down there and ask for a fuel pump and see if they offer up an intank unit. Then I could ask to see it just so I could marvel at it. Might even give me an idea, but not for that money.
