Could someone enlighten me on how to remove the wiper arms on a 67 F100. The manuals say pull the wiper arm back at the pivot and pull arm off the spindle. This is not working in my case. I can find nothing that resembles a catch or key that is holding them on. There is some play so it's not siezed up but it's not coming off either. I do not know if these were the original arms or correct or incorrect replacements. I need to get them off to replace the gaskets. Any insight would be appreciated before I begin to increase the amount of force used to pry them up off the spindle. Thanks Lee.
The easiest and safest way I've found is to take a pair of needle-nose pliers,A small tack hameer or piece of doweling to be used as a fulcrum, and a rag.
Wrap the rag around the wood to prevent from scratching the paint.
Now place the open needle-nose pliers on either side of the mounting gear, then close them tight and pry up on it.
You might have to do it from two different sides to get it off.
I usually do it from the rounded side.
Thanks Dennis, you were right on. Plus once I knew that force could be applied without damage and there were no trick releases involved I could proceed with some confidence.
Hoping you will check back and realizing your extensive contributions could you possibly suggest someplace I could find a Emergency Brake Bracket for a 67 F100. Local salvage yards have not been helpful.
I thank you again for your help and hope our paths cross again in the future. Lee

If you can't find one,I'll check the 1970 that came into the wrecker on Monday to see if it has one that isn't seized.
But I've got a 69 F-250 that looks like it's got a little key thing under the wiper arm. I need to remove and reclock them but don't want to break anything. Is that little peice the catch that holds them on?
Yes. If I recall, use a small screwdriver and push down on it while pulling up on the arm. Been so long since I screwed with the wipers on my '69 I can't say for sure anymore. Been 24 yrs, never replaced them(never goes out in the rain).
I tried that and the clip pulled out from the arm a bit but the arm didn't feel any looser on the spindle. I stopped there so I wouldn't break anything.
