I'm getting a donor truck,71 F-100 with front disc brakes.what all do I need to pull of it besides rotors and calipers and master cylinder I dont need the whole the front end set up do I? is htis a pretty simpple install?
you need the spindles too, but unless you want to have a machine shop rebuild your kingpins, it might be easier to just grab the whole I beams. its actualy fewer bolts to remove the whole I beam (2 plus shock and spring retainer). you also need the proportioning valve to go with that master cylinder
Don't quote me on this but I think all of the running gear is the same. If I were you I would take the rear end and springs and such just to have spares.
Believe will need the later I beams that will accept the spindle and calipers. Suggest taking the pedal setup, and/or stop light switch. I kept the original pressure stop switch setup. Also, check for brackets and pulleys 2 or 3 groove.
big66, You might want to start shopping somewhere else. The 8.8 wasn't introduced until the mid 80s. I think it was offered before behind a 5.0 but it was 1986 before the 9" was dropped completely.
I'm just going to take the whole truck and take everythin I can off of it then I'll have spare 9" to narrow, also came across a 67 steering column off of a manual witch is cool cause I don't want the shifter lever on the column cause I'll be using a rachet shifter this should bolt right in correct?
