Cool Erratic shifting torqshift???

My torqshift has a very delayed reverse engagement, delayed drive, but not always. The 3-4 upshift will sometimes hit neutral for a few seconds then bang into 4th.

Here lately it doesn't seem to know what gear it is in sometimes, like I can manually put it in 1st yet it will remain in 3rd even at a dead stop.

It almost acts like an electrical problem.

My guess is that you probably have a wire chaffing problem. You may also need to be reflashed, but I'm leaning more towards the wire chaffing issue. It seems like it's more of an electrical problem than it is mechanical.

I forgot to mention the other day the tow/haul light was flashing.

It also has the most recent flash from Ford.

When the tow/haul light flashes it means the computer found a problem. Get it in ASAP before it dies!

The code will stay in memory even if the light isn't flashing any more.

That means that your friend didn't have the right software to read the codes on the TorqShift. The code is there, but he couldn't read it.

They just said they would have to do some more looking into it. I wasn't there very long.
