Well, I cut mine before the crossmember so I could get it out easily for the 4 inch MBRP. During that time, I did notice some smell of burnt diesel when stopping. Also the wife noticed it. I use her as my sniffer and tester. I don't tell her anything and if she can smell it or feel it, it is there.

Well on my truck the exauhst ends just past the cab, under the bed. It is about 3 feet of 6" turnout taken off of a rig welded to the factory pipe. The turnout is pointed straight down so the sound echos between the truck and the ground for a more pronounced effect. Love that sound. It has been like this for about 2 years and I have never noticed any smell in the cab of fuel or anything to make me think the gases are coming in. On the other hand, the underside of my bed and my rear end always look freshly painted in flat black.
