i have had a slow leak in the rear main, just today I change the oil and noticed another very slow leak further back and to the left if your looking from the front of the truck. (it's motor oil) it by my oil pan. what could be leaking back there? and does stop leak work. don't know much about this kind of stuff yet. only 19.
If you replaced the PCV valve, I'd clean everything up good and watch it awhile. If it's slow, it's not dangerous. Make sure that you're not overfull and watch awhile. I'd stay away from pouring anything in just yet.

Nah, that garbage neverworks. It either makes the oil thicker or swells the seals. The thing with the seal swelling is that when the additive is not in the oil, the sealshrinks backand could make the leak worse(so I've been told). Never been a fan of that stuff. The only leak stop stuff that works is the coolant stuff.
i just put in a rear main seal in my 90 f250 5.8 and i tryed that crap first its just a wast of money the seal cost me 14 dollars at napa and a days wroth of work and i know that i will not have to do it ever agin that stop leak cost as much as the seal it self and will have to still be changed at some point
Stop leak does work in some cases, but it mostly clogs up the works, any small passages will clog and cause hot spots, clog tubes in the radiator, adversly affect the thermostat, all bad things, definitely. The coolant system is very important, should be maintained and monitored on a regular basis, and I know you're aware of this. A friend used Bar's Leak and the water pump in the Bronco grenaded shortly after that. I carry some in the Bronco when I'm off road and only in an emergency.
