np435 transmission

np435 transmission
I recently purchaced a 2wd np435 transmission for my 1977 f250 highboy divorced.Can I just swap the output housing from my old np435 so I have some place to mount the transfer case shifter or do I need to replace the output shaft as well?Both have slip type yokes not the flanged type.

I put a 2wd NP435 in my Highboy to replace my C6 and I made a bracket that bolts to the top of the tranny and down to where the tailshaft bolts to the case for my 4wd shifter to bolt to and pivot.
