Todays racing results

Well this was the first day of racing for this year for me, wish Ihad more test and tune time, and a good place to do it. The new suspension worked out pretty good, it launched like a rocket, and with the new stall and cam it came on hard but the dang trans wasn't wanting to shift to second I had to hit it twice into the third gear position to get it into second I am really starting to hate B&M shifters. And then in what ended up bieng my last race for the day, about half track the truck just shut off like you hit the ignition or kill switch, I still have no idea what caused that as it started right back up but of coarse i lost that race.
In the end I ended up with first in modified, and third in open class. I need to get into the shift linkage and figure out why it doesn't like shifting, I am thinking the B&M shift arm is too long and not moving the lever far enough inside to hit the next gear making it have to move farther. It works when everything is setup perfect but there is no give in it at all it has to be perfect so I think I might have to modify that shift arm a little so that with every shift position on the shifter itself it moves the internal shifter an extra 1/16-1/8" probably weld up the hole and redrill it about 1/4" higher (have to play with the positioning a little to get it right. And I still got to figure out what turned it off like that must be a loose connection somewhere.

That tranny was causing you problems last year too wasn't it?

How's the truck feel for power now compared to last year?

I ran those tires the last race of last year, and they hook pretty good although Iwasn't running the air preasure as low this time but I think I will for the next time drop them back down to 9psi.
And yes Ivan it was giving me trouble last year too but I had it working at the end of the year and didn't take it out so figured it was still good. My problem seems to be that unless the cable and adapter are in just the perfect position and you have to hold your mouth just right when you align them, and the stars are all aligned properly, and the old lady has been in a good mood, and the planets are not aligned, and you have given the proper sacrifices of small childern to the gods it will then work reasonably well but instead I think I am gonna weld up hte hole in the shift arm and move it just enough so that the shift cable movement is actually enough to move the shift arm enough to move the internal valve to the next detent and actually hit the next gear, the way it is now you have to comprimise just enough so that the gears never quit hit, basically B&M junk must be designed for chebbies and not real trucks.

Monster, one word.......Lenco. I always wanted one of those. Sorry your shifter is giving you fits man. After all the excitement last year you gave me about cutting my boggers, I finally get to try them out June 30th. It's time for the mud bog again and I can't wait.
