Thanks, mil1ion. I am familiar with the guidelines, and I'm confident I didn't violate any of them. If I did, I'd sure like to hear which one. I didn't use profanity or obscenities, I wasn't being rude to anyone, etc. I merely pointed out that the language filter was poorly programmed and resulted in unnecessary redaction of a lot of entirely legitimate words, many of which are used repeatedly in normal discussions about the topics of the board (for example, just yesterday I saw someone else asking why the board censored the word "passage" in a discussion about the coolant passages in his block). The filter could easily be set to discriminate between the three-letter synonymn for a rear end, and that same string of characters incorporated into larger words. For instance, set the filter to reject those characters only when they are preceded and followed by a space, or are preceded by a space and followed by a period or other punctuation.
Stockman's removal of the comments, besides demonstrating a complete lack of any sense of humour, seems to be heavy-handed and focused on suppressing any possible criticism of the site and its administrators. The removal also is not consistent with the posting guidelines of the site. Frankly, I love FTE and I'm glad it's here. That's why I'm a dues-paying member and a regular user. If the guidelines include refraining from criticizing the site's operation in any way, then Ken and company should make that clear up front (and my opinion of them will definitely change).

FIRST OF ALL, as a courtesy to you I sent you a polite message. You chose to make the issue a bigger deal than it is. I have a problem with a post that is off-topic. It is entirely appropriate for you to launch constructive criticsm about any aspect of FTE, myself, or the rules as I apply them. HOWEVER, do it respectfully, without the sarcasm and in an appropriate place. HERE AINT IT. I spend a great deal of my personal time here volunteering, I might add, trying to help people with their projects. I don't appreciate a slam like "lighten up." Furthermore, I, nor anyone else owes you an explanation about which guideline I feel was violated. Your gripe about the language filter has nothing to do with trucks. As far as I'm concerned this off-topic subject is closed.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, Stockman. You had previously asked if my '68 F-100 had AC. No, it doesn't. Hope this doesn't punch a hole in your theory. The side-to-side toggle switch is ON the dash not under it. Thought: My truck is a Ranger XLT. Maybe XLT's had dash mounted switches. The switch is mounted in the wood grained area to the right of the steering wheel.
Wow, too early for me to process all that info (or too late, one or the other). When someone can put all of the info together and figure out what the deal is would you please wake me from my nap?
For what info I have, my first truck was a 69 Ranger, no A/C, cargo light, manual choke and the emergency flasher was in the glove box. I think the left side, a toggle switch from left to right. I will check my other trucks (67,68,72) when I get home this weekend and see what they have to say. Maybe we'll put 2million and 2million together and solve this riddle.
