I am posting this for a good friend. He has a 1998 Ranger with the 4.0L pushrod engine. It has the plastic intake and it leaks like a sieve. Mostly seems to be concentrated around the "seam" between the two halves. I don't know if this has been discussed before, but, does Ford have any recall on these like the 4.6L engines? I found a TSB referencing this, TSB 01205 and a similar one TSB 15190.
I wasn't able to pull up the text on here though. Help!

Leaks what? There isn't anything that can leak out of the upper intake.
Update on this. He ordered a replacement upper intake from Genuine Ford Parts. I changed it and the fuel rail to lower gasket this weekend. The big problem was a hole that appears to be burned through just behind the EGR pipe in the bottom side of the plenum. I also did an injector cleaning and replaced the plug wires. The owner had just replaced all the plugs chasing the problem. Owner and, more important, wife are very pleased that the problem is finally fixed.
