Thanks alot fellas. I really appreciate the knowledge. Working on it tomorrow, finially have time off. I'll let you guys know how everything turns out.
Perhaps I used a bad term, but " the button for the 4-ways" is meant to mean the switch on top of the steering column you depress to engage your 4-way flashers. Because this is "part" of the multi-function switch, if you wiggle it while the blinkers are acting up, a lot of times you will see a " change" in the blinker function. Don't depress it, just wiggle it lightly. If you get changes in blinker action while doing this, you can then proceed to check out or replace the switch.
Joeytrucker I fixed the problem last night. I would strongly suggest messing with your tilt wheel first. If you tilt your steering wheel everytime you get in your truck like I do it is probably the same thing mine did. Although these guys are informative it is probably none of the parts they mentioned. I started by taking off the 3 screws on the cover under the steering wheel, next I popped off the cover just under the tach and speedo, I forgot you also have to take the tilt wheel handle off. After taking the bottom steering column cover off, I left the top cover and worked around it. I then used a torx bit and removed the turn signal unit with 2 torx screws. After removing and unplugging the two plugs there was an orange wire split in half ( I tilt the wheel up and it made contact-tilt it down seperated ) <- problem solved, soldered in some extra wire and taped it up, fixed in about a half hour. When you take the lower cover off the steering column you will see the wire cluster to check, Trust me this was not to hard and you can always check this before you buy new parts.
