Hey All, I Woke Up Saturday Morning And My 03 Expo Eb Was Filthy From Pollen And Whatnot, So I Decided To Go To The Carwash. Once Leaving The Carwash I Noticed The Engine Was Sputtering When I Was At A Redlight On Idle And Running Rough In General. Also When I Pressed The Gas Peddle, The Engine Didnt Respond As Firmly As Usual, It Delayed. After Running Rough All Morning, I Punched The Gas Peddle All The Way Down And The Truck Delayed A Second Before It Accelerated, After Getting My Foot Off The Gas Peddle, The "service Engine Soon" Light Came On, And This Stayed On For A Couple Of Days, Now The Truck Runs Fine Again.
What Could Be The Cause? Also Before The Carwash My Truck Hadnt Been Started For 5 Days.
Expys are famouse for having some leaks. Particulary over the #8 plug or the GEM module.
Most likely you had some water leak down around one of the COPs (usually the back one on the passenger side and it is causing a misfire. Take an air hose and blow out any water that may have collected in the plug wells and then look under the dash to see if anything got wet from a leak around the windshield.
This should take care of your problem. Let us know how it turns out.
Hey, honestly Im so bad with cars, I cant even find the COPs, the engine began the rough idle and sputterin on acceleration about a week and a half ago, since then the check engine light has gone off, but i still experience the sputter and rough idle after turning the car on, it seems to go away once ive been driving for about 15 minutes. Will a diagnostic check show any problem even the service engine soon light has gone away?
