Looking for some knowledge and help. I have always gotten a SES light when running each of the 3 highest programs on my Predator. It seems to be tied to the boost/MAP sensor or Exhaust Pressure sensor. I have added the dual-relief valve and each of the original code eliminators from Black Cloud hoping to eliminate the SES light, but it still comes on during hasty acceleration or pulling hills. I also have no trouble getting the EGT's over 1300 on the higher two programs. Any ideas? I feel like I've done all the support mods I can, correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm leaning towards the BTS VB & DP Tuner, as many have expressed EGT problems with Diablo, but this SES thing has me wanting to fix first, then try big mods. Thanks in advance everyone, for helping contribute to mine and all of our PMS. Ha Ha!
I'm pretty sure it's over 20psi. I can get it to come on as well when I'm running 45mphish, pulling a slight grade, giving the truck enough throttle to build a bunch of boost, but NOT enough to down shift into 3rd(auto tranny). The only code the Predator pulls is Exhaust Pressure Sensor Low. I haven't been lucky enough to see the light come on and then look at the boost gauge, usually I'm focused on keeping the truck pointed straight or glancing at EGT's which are always a concern, I can hit 1300 no problem on a on-ramp or short hill pull. Thanks Dan, I'm running short of options and can't seem to figure this one out...
The only thing that comes to mind would be the EBPV. If the valve is stuck partially closed that may account for the high EGTs and higher boost. Just guessing here. May have to wait on some of the masters to show up to really help.
That EBPV idea has me thinking, but scared. I have already had one turbo replaced under warranty for that exact reason, the valve stuck closed, blowing the pedastel seals and God knows what else. But I've always had this EGT issue since adding the Predator, and all winter during warm ups you can tell the EBPV was opening and closing. I believe. Hmmm.... Thanks again for all the help gents.....
It reads 200-400 at idle, comes up right away on startup, seems to be fine unless it's reading high all the time! I loaded the Econo Tune today for a trip to Denver and back up to Vail, and got the SES to light on a long hill pull with 300 lb. piece of furniture and myself as cargo. Seems to happen in O/D at medium or greater throttle, with the boost building to over 20 lbs. Weird stuff....
it's all a stab in the dark (as i am typing in the dark ) without codes. go to autozone and get them to scan the codes for you. shouldnt charge anything, and if anything, not much. the codes will help me and others to diagnose what is wrong and a cure....

The only code my Predator pulls is P0472: Exhaust Pressure Sensor Low
I thought the eliminator I purchased from BCD was supposed to address this, but I must be mistaken. Should I still have the Napa up here pull the codes(If they even have the scanner)? Finding a decent shop anywhere in my part of the state is a challenge, and the dealers are just shy of crooks...
Like Kris said, Autozone or any discount auto parts store can pull codes and should do it for free. Just call around. Let us know if they pull anything additional because I'm really curious now. I'm considering a predator myself mostly for the code pulling and logging. Wondering if it's missing something.
