HELP! - getting ripped off by audio places!

hey guys,
I have a 2004 F250 ext cab, ext bed. I put an AVIC-N1 head unit in and then added a sirus attachment for come satalite. The damn audio place cant figure out how to set up the sirus so that doesnt work... but thats not what im worried about at this point. I NEED A SYSTEM! and everytime i go down to a place to get something priced out, i end up at $7,000-$10,000 and i DONT want to spend anything near that for my system, i already have $2,400 into that headunit. I want 2 - 12w7's (i think) and JL speakers (also not 100 sure) with some sweet amp, 1000/1? not sure on the amp either. I dont know where im gonna put these guys, but i was looking at the JL stealthbox but thats clearly not big enough for the pounding i want. I do everything big, and i want this system to be big too. ANYONE HAVE ANY RECCOMENDATIONS? or places that i can go to in NY, CT, or MA? ill post some pics of the little odds and ends i put into this truck, and youll get an idea that im pretty crazy with what i do, haha

thanks in advance!

Craig

Personally I would do the install myself, they're in this to make money and they do a good job at taking yours. I'm not saying that about all of the install places, but the majority of them will rip you off.

But you're looking at JL Audio 12W7's.. these are pretty expensive by theirselves and you're wanting 2. Then you're looking at putting in a 1000/1 amp just for the subs. I deffinately recommend putting in an amp for the full-range audio too (component speakers) in order to get maximum clarity out of your speakers without stressing the on-board amp of the AVIC-N1.

As far as recommended speakers, I like Eclipse, JL Audio, Focal, Diamond Audio, a/d/s, and a few others. But they're all pretty expensive. Can I ask why you want to go with 2 12W7's? That's more power than you can handle really use, but it's your truck.

I'd get in contact with KC AutoSound. They sponsor the board you posted on. I'm sure he'll be happy to help and he'll be fair. If nothing else, he can send you the stuff and you can have a local install your equipment.
