I am looking to swap my 435 trans( bad bearings) for a 5 speed from an f-600 with a 391 engine. My `71 has a fresh 390 in it now.
Does anyone have an idea if this is even feasable?
Man that 5th gear would work out great on the freeway!

I seem to remember that the 391 has a larger crankshaft end, snout???, and therfore the 391 tranny might not bolt up directly to the 390. But I have never tried this so I cant swear to it, it is just some of that "useless trivia" I have stored in my head.
i believe the tranny out of the f-600 is not an overdrive tranny. it just splits one of the gears and ends up having the same final drive ratio in high gear.
