I have seen people selling used programmers on ebay and stuff, and I am confused. I have an 01 7.3PSD 4x4 auto, and I would like to juice it up with a programmer.
I am confused, because I have seen:
41029, that says it is for 99-03
41040, that says it is for 01-03
41012, that says it is 2001
Are these interchangeable? Will other models other than those above work on my truck? Will any one model number be better than another?

Well I think I just answered my own question by calling Hypertech. I am not exactly sure, because I got the feeling that they were trying to sell me a new one, and may have been "filtering" the information that they were giving me.
41012 was the first one that they made for the 2001, and it gave 48hp, and 80tq.
41029 was the second one that they made for the 2001, and it had the same 48/80, but had newer codes to allow it to do multiple years.
40140 is the newest and current version that gives 30/60/100 hp gains (I forgot to write down the tq).
This guy was certainly advising me to stay away from the used ones, but I think it was more to try to get me to buy a new one.
