Well I'm out here in the deasert, no garage floor, pulling motor out of f-250, need to work on number 7 cylinder while I'm doing all this I should change seals anyhow, should I go ahead and pull tranny to? If the wind blows I have to tarp think up. thanks for any input.
when i pulled my engine, i took the tranny with it. i dont know if you have a manual or automatic. i assume automatic. just keep them hooked up together and it should come out fine.
I believe that I understand your question having lived in the Arizona desert for over 30 years. Sand and wind!! I have always pulled the engine and tranny together. Reassembly is easier since you'll probably have to move the tranny around to get alignment on the shaft when you reinstall. Also prevents infilteration of the sand on exposed components. I don't know what your problems is with the #7 cylinder. If you explain maybe there is a way of dealing with it without pulling the engine!
sorry I didnt explain good . The #7 cylinder has 28 lbs and with oil it has 60 lb,
the tranny has a hesitation when first starts in the mornings, but is find the rest of the day ,its a c-6 so instead of trying to replace seals under the truck, should take tranny out and fix it?? right, Was hopping there was a burnt valve, also a slite knock to, there has to be something going on in that cylinder. was going to replace the 352 witha 360 that has a burnt ex valve, but the price of gas now days cant afford to fix both engines so. going to repair the original engine, sounds good, right???
