high egt low boost update

i found 4 turbo fins that are chipped at the corner,1 which is bent. it doest look severe but i dont know what the tolerances are. (probably none). the barrel isnt scored and i feel no noticable play in the wheel. one intercooler boot (driver side) has about 1/2x1/4in. of the blue coating gone. cant tell if that would cause a leak or not, thats why i'm seeking yalls help. would just a new wheel remedy this or am i looking at big money? been using the 6637 just shortly (days) after kwik announced it. not realizing how long its been but the filter has been on that long. must have been past due!!! please respond gently.haha- marvin

U may want to have it rebuilt. They'll rebalance everything. About $300 at ITPdiesel.com

thanks for the input nut. so you think just replacing the compressor wheel wouldnt suffice? i didnt get any play from the shaft. what causes this kind of thing? is this something you had done when you put your wheel in?

I agree on replacing the compressor wheel
. Ideally u may want it re-balanced. Those small chips could have caused a severe imbalance. Maybe hurt something. I'm no expert but the turbo spins upwards of 120krpm's.

It couldn't hurt to try a new wheel and see how it goes. If the shaft's only movement is rotational you might have dodged a bullet.

Have you seen Johnny8's excellent writeup on replacing the compressor wheel?

Johnny's pics/descriptions are used on BlackCloudDiesel and Dfuser's wicked/superior wheel install instruction sheets.

i have seen johnny8's write-up! plan on using it. found places on the web that sell rebuild kits for $77. you get new bearings, shaft, etc. the tips of my comp. wheel seem to be worn with time. one is pitted at the tip,two tips broke, one tip bent towards you.i pray the bullet was dodged! we'll see
