I have white, "Wagon Wheel" type rims on the truck I just purchased. I would like to bring the vehicle back to it's original look. 1. What size stock rims would I want for my 1980 F100 4X2? 2. Which years would be interchangeable? 3. What color would the originals have been?
Thanks,
Ken
Some 80s F100s used a 4 1/2 bolt pattern, which is the same as a ford passenger car. The rest used a 5" lug pattern that was used on 1/2 ton ford trucks up to I think 1996.
Yeah, just get out the measuring tape and measure between the lugs. I could be wrong, but I think the F100s with manual brakes got the small bolt pattern wheels.
I went to buy some rotors one time for my 83 F100, and the parts guy gave me the small bolt pattern rotors, I thought he looked up the parts wrong. But the parts book called for two different rotors. I have seen only two F100s with the small bolt pattern wheels. I dont think they made many of them.

Wow, I never seen one with the small bolt pattern.
Then again, I've seen 68 mustangs with 4 bolt wheels, so I guess it is possible.
Ahh...WHAT A COUNTRY!! Isn't it great to be able to openly voice our difference of opinions? I like sierraben's "stock white rims and the "dog dish" type hubcaps! So that will be my "plan".
Thanks for the opinions and I will surely keep them ALL in mind as I source out my parts. Those "wagon wheel" rims. Are they worth anything or are they "a dime a dozen"? Sorry if I've dated myself on that phrase!
Actually, I wasn't expressing an opinion, but rather listing what was stock on 1980 F100 Ford pickups. And the stock wheels and hubcaps on both the 80 and 81 F100's with Custom trim package were not white and the hubcaps were argent, not chrome, and were plastic full wheel covers as described in both the 80 and 81 Ford truck brochures. Many tire and wheel options were available, however, either when the truck was ordered or as after purchase accessories from Ford.
