Throttle linkage

Has anyone ever replaced the complex multilink throttle setup like I have on my 72 with a single rod setup? If so how did you do it...what pieces/parts did you use?

Thanks

If I remember correctly, I think I just used one of the existing rods. Again I am not sure. If that doesn't work, pretty much anything you might find in a salvage yard on a Ford should work. It did make for a higher pedal, though.

Sorry if this isn't much help.

I just used a steel rod with an O.D. a little smaller than the hole in the throttle lever. Bent it so it doesn't hit anything on full travel. Made little 90* bends on the ends and drilled a small hole so after it's installed on the levers, I slip a washer over it and stick a cotter pin in the hole. The rod has sort of an "S" shape to it and yes the pedal is a little higher, closer to the brake now! You will notice a little more feel and definitely know you're getting full throttle.

I have heard that the throttle link from a '65-'66 Mustang works well too.
