Don't do it. I have heard of too many horror stories of poped head gaskets and stretched head bolts because of high CP's. Look around for a better alternative.
Unfortunetly the above 2 posts are not very accurate. I have been running the Diablo Pred. for about a year. There new program is excellent, with lower EGT temps. I will admit the original versions were not very good.
When the Predator boots up, the display screen shows which software revision is in the tool. As long as you have the U7165 tool, you can update to the latest software.
Concerning the exhaust: 4" exhaust will help lower EGTs no matter who's programmer you are using.
Running predator for about 2 yrs and no problems what so ever. Use it to pull burn out and anything with all new updates running a 4" turbo back with cat removed.
The pred. did have some problems in the beginning with a lot of people's rigs. I noticed extreme high temps, and poor shifting. The updates (found on Diablo's web site) are very easy to update your Pred. Matter of fact, if you look on this forum, you will find a lot of people complaining about other programmers not working after thier recall. The Pred. is easily updated. All you need is to plug it into your truck and if you have a laptop, you can get a USB to printer cable port (not sure of the reel name of this, but it plugs into the bottom of you Pred.)
An exhaust will drop your temps about 200F that I have found. I ran the 65HP tune for a long time, but recently I switched to the 100HP tune. There is also a website that I have booked marked on my computer at home that compared all programmers/tuners/performance mods. The Diablo finished second on all three tests to I think the X-caliber. I will find the tests and drop a post tonight.
They are trying to show how great the SCT tuner is. One thing that I noticed is that SCT didn't meet their specified torque or hp claims. The Pred. exceeded them by a large number.
If you look at the chart carefully you will see the SCT had the highest gains. They missed the claimed number on TQ by .7%, I would imagine if it was on a differant truck, or maybe even outside temp it could have been spot on 100%. I'm not trying to tell you SCT is the best....they are all good products. Heck we sell all of them and I think you would get a great smile if you bought any of them. Everyone of those companies have been good to work with for us if there is ever a problem.
