starter locked up?
i let my 1967 SWB f100 300 6IL 4wd 4 spd. sit for about 3 months. it was on a pretty steep incline so i parked it facing downhill in first with the p-brake on and i chocked the wheels after i got out. 3 months later i got in it, depressed the clutch and the thing wouldn't come out of first gear. so i just kept the clutch pushed down completely and tried to turn it over. ****here's the weird thing, the truck lurched as if i had forgotten to push the clutch???**** well, at least it would come out of 1st now and the shifter felt the same as always in each gear. i tried tried to turn it over again and nothing. replaced a bad solenoid with a new one and tried again...smoke billowed from the new solenoid. killed it. i then walked away for 3 months with bigger fish to fry. (i.e. school, wife, home projects and my daily driver '89 mustang with 300,000 miles, many modifications that is more demanding than my wife at times.) today, my mustang's THIRD Borg-Warner "WORLD CLASS"?? T-5 transmission came unglued, sounded like someone had removed the shifter and put a handful of marbles in there when i wasn't looking. if you aren't already ahead of me, the truck has suddenly become a BIG priority again and i would like some input on what to do next. i'm about to go out there and pull the starter now, any suggestions? comments?
what in the world is the deal with it lurching even with the clutch in? could it be a cable adjustment problem?
also, the truck was making a clicking noise while it was rolling when i drove it last that sounded like maybe a transfer case/locking hub issue? it was not a terribly loud clicking but concerned me just the same. i'm not very familiar with the 4wd thing, always been a car guy and i was given this truck (and i love it by the way).
any input, suggestions, experience would be appreciated since i am may not be a rookie when it comes to a ford mustang, but a definite rookie with this big old monster.
Thanks again. i will add pictures one day when i get a break...

Sometimes a little nudge helps loosen the starter.
Other wise it's *UNDER the truck for you*, to remove it.
