A '99 F150, I just installed an AutoMeter tranny temp gauge, but need a power source from the ignition. All I've found so far is constant power sources under the dash, but obviously don't need the gauge powered 24 hours a day, just when the truck is running. Any sources?
PS- Been to two Radio Shacks for the "part" that supposed to plug into the fuse block, neither knew what I was talking about. Part numbers? Descriptions?
Tranny temp gauge install was EASY!

Check under the hood. You should find a "block" that supplies constant 12V as well as one that is switched on with the ignition. If the unit is easier to wire in the cab, do the same to your fuse block. There are some open spaces in there and if you look, you can see the contacts. Just test to find one that is switched.
