Bad Rings Or Piston
I Have A 2.3 Turbo Out Of A 88 T-bird I Think I Have Bad Rings Because I Checked The Compersion On All 4 Cyl And The Reading Were #1 165 #2 160 #3 160 And #4 75 When I Put Oil In The Cyl The Compersion Came Up To 105 Still Not Enuff And Help For A First Time Builder?

may not be either one, it COULD be a blown head gasket letting compression leak out giving that low number. if its not, the only way I can think of to tell for sure, is tear it down for a rebuild.

You can also have a valve sealing problem. The best way to determine cylinder condition is with a leak down tester. That will tell you where the leakage is. A poor mans leak down can be done. Remove the two rockers from that cylinder and apply 100+ pounds of air pressure. Listen for where the air is leaking. That will tell you which valve or if it's a headgasket or rings.
