I had to get on it a little today pulling into traffic. At about 4500 or so RPM the engine missed, almost like it turned off fo a split second. It bucked once or twice then continued on. Anyone else experience this?
What year is your truck? I have an 04 screw, and i just had it in for a PCM update. I told the dealer that i was having engine problems, so I could get it for free. I was having a similar issue where it seemed the engine was "missing". After the update I have noticed a huge improvement in performance, and the "miss" is gone.
I have an 05 S Crew with a 5.4L in it and experience the opposite yesterday. While I was sitting at a red light, I felt 2 misses. The truck has 3800 miles on it and I have never felt a miss of any type so far. It has my attention now and I am expecting it to miss again. Just checked my mfg date and it is listed at 11/04. I am sure I have some old software in the PCM.
as your profile states 05 f150.take that bad boy in and have ford check it out.i just had my 05 250 in today and found there are many updated reflashes out . the latest one that they used i have to get used to . it makesmy bad boy v10 even bader.
my truck is having exact problems only on full throtle which is seldom used but I have been very afraid to pass other vehichles. just installed new throtle body today greatly improved performance but miss and bucking is still there. I have 64000 miles I drive it every day and my dealership is very hard to work with. It has never flashed a light. I ordered software yesterday to plug my laptop to monitor pids and do balance check. Im thinking it is an ignition problem since it only occurs under full accleration. Any help would be greatly appreciated
the software is made by autoingunuity. I ordered the ford extended version it data logs, does all your obd2, can, and your diesel programs. supposed to give you all access like the dealership, 4x4, airbags, abs etc. not sure but possibly tune. I know it can calibrate speedometer etc. also balance test and other self test. and sensor device operation. im not trying to sell you on it. I can let you know when I get my hands on it
got off of work this afternoon bought a set of motorcraft plugs. after 1 hr and thirty minutes I have the smoothest idle and no hesitation or miss on full throttle. plugs were definately gapped open burnt equaly on ground strap and electrode. I thought they were supposed to have been 100,000 mile plugs. I only got 64,000 miles. any body else with similar experience let me know thanks Morgan
