I have a problem with my engine missing/hesitating at slow speeds. This has happened a few times. Is a major problem when I am trying to get my camper backed into a position or out of a position. Seems that I have to put the go pedal on the floor just to get the rig moving. Seems to go away after the truck has been out on the road for a while and is fully warmed up. I took it to the dealer and of course they could not make it happen. Any ideas on what I might look at? Thanks for the info.
I knew somebody was going to get me on that. It does it in forward and reverse. If I start out slow and then gun it, it bogs down and misses real bad a few times and then kicks in like it is suppose to. Makes it real scary trying to back into a small space with a trailer.
Air filter gets changed every 6000 miles (every other oil change). Last change was 1 month ago. I cannot seem to make it do the same thing when I go to the dealer. All other times it acts up. I only have 13,524 on the mileage. From reading other posts in the past, I thought that the IAC was the issue. Is it possible to take the AIC off and clean it or must I buy a new one. I also need to know where it is in case I need to replace or clean. I am waiting for my SCMT to get her. Maybe it will make a difference when I get the new program installed.
I had IAC problems at about 30k. Mine just wouldn't idle at all. It would "warm up" and be fine. Finally it just wouldn't idle period. The Ford house fixed (under warranty, of course) and I was in and out in no time.
My 2000 v-10 had the same problem right from the start. (less than 600 miles) Ended up being a clogged fuel filter after numerous trips to the dealer. The vehical was starving for fuel and it would chug everytime I upshifted and the RPMs dropped below 1800. It would bearly pull my 22 foot trailer over the mountains. A filter is less than $20.00 but only takes a few minutes to remove and blow through it. Remember to replace the plastic clips if you do not replace the filter. The engine would idle fine and with no load did not seem to have a problem. No codes were stored either.
