Hi i am thinking of putting a set of Flowmaster super 40s on my f350 with side exhaust and headers. What i wood lick to no, have any of you heard a super 40 and haw did it sound.
You may be able to find sound clips for those and other mufflers in the exhaust forum. Personally I like Magnaflow mufflers. I think the flowmasters make all engines sound like a Cheby but that is just my personal opinion.

One thing you might want to consider is the resonance sound in the cab, if that is not a problem, then go for it. I had 50's on my 79 F-150 460 with duals and the resonance sound in the cab was unbearable between 15 and 55 MPH. Took a copout and changed to the 70 series Flowmasters. But I have to say they are quieter but just not the BIG sound I was looking for originally, but the enter ears prevailed in the end!
To me, flowmasters makes a strong engine sound like it is running under water and exhausting thru a 6 inch stove pipe. Magnaflows are the way to go, they make a engine sound the way the old big blocks in the 70's sounded. Powerful and throaty...

The Magnoflows have a nice low rumble when cruising and a nice throaty bellow when you step on the loud pedal just like an engine should sound.
