I just took a look at the vent window seals I'd been avoiding for a month and I noticed the rivets that came in the package are solid (not hollow) on the button end of them. I'm definetly not an expert on rivets but how are you sapposed to "rivet" these rivets? I looked at the channel that the small end of the rivet is saposed to be crushed in and there isnt access to the inside of it (as far as I can tell).
Has anyone installed these seals before? It is the single thing keeping me from putting my doors back together.
Hi Brian. I'm in the same boat. I think I've seen this question posted before (possibly even by you!). No response to that one either. I am also trying to figure that problem out. I was tempted to just throw in some aluminum rivets and call it good, but don't know/trust how well they will hold up. If yoou find out I'd like to know! --Matt
Brian, I put new seals on my vent windows recently and it wasn't any fun. I had my wife help me. She held a flat drift under the head side
and I hit the "open" side with a ceter punch. Stedy hands and patience is a must!
